Ayr Marching Camp Found in 2015
A marching camp was discovered in 2015 in the grounds of Ayr Academy and near the Ayr Racecourse. The camp has been dated to the time of Agricola’s invasion in 80AD and is the first evidence of the west coast route used by the Roman legions. For details see
