Legio XXII Primigenia (elements of)
The twenty-second was stationed in Mainz, Germany but there is evidence that elements of the legion were stationed in Scotland. This is thought to have happened during Hadrian’s Reign in 120 AD and also during the Antonine period in 142 AD. Thirdly it may have been part of Septimus Severus’s campaign in 205 AD.
