Roman Stirling
It is thought that there was a Roman fort here but evidence is hard to come with the building of the modern town. Supplies would have come in by sea and a road goes across the forth. There are three periods when there are likely to haver been activity.
In 1314 Edward I followed the Roman road to Stirling as it was the most direct route they could take ( see Roman Road – Direct Route to Stirling)
