Romans in Scotland 100 AD

At this point, many of the forts built during the Agricola invasion have been abandoned since 86 AD. Some key forts still appear to be in limited use. Many Roman forces pull back to the Stanegate Road which roughly follows the route Hadrian’s Wall will in 122 AD. Academics debate about the Roman presence in Scotland at this time and I have tried to keep to the forts mentioned on Canmore the official government record and have not used the “there must have been a Roman fort here ” records.

Shortly after in 101 AD many of the forts here were abandoned and the military units withdrawn as the emperor Trajan needed them to fight in the Dacian Wars ( Romania and western Ukraine) which lasted to 106 AD.
