Romulus and Remus

Once upon a time, a long, long time ago in a place that would one day become the city of Rome, there were twin brothers named Romulus and Remus. These twins were not ordinary boys; they were the sons of Mars, the god of war, but they were raised by a kind and gentle wolf!

When Romulus and Remus were just babies, they were left all alone by the Tiber river. Luckily, a wolf found them and took care of them as if they were her own puppies. She fed them and kept them safe in her den. Later, a friendly shepherd found them and took over raising them. The shepherd taught them many things, including how to take care of animals.

As the twins grew up, they became strong and brave. They loved adventures and always stood up for what was right. They helped protect their friends and the other shepherds from bullies and wild animals.

One day, Romulus and Remus decided they wanted to build a city of their own, right where the wolf had found them. But they couldn’t agree on where exactly to build the city or who should be in charge. They argued and even fought each other.

Sadly, during their fight, Romulus got very angry and accidentally hurt Remus so badly that he died. Romulus was heartbroken and very sorry about losing his brother. Despite this, he went on to build the city, which he named Rome, in honour of himself.

Romulus became the first king of Rome, and he always remembered his brother. He made sure that his city was a place where everyone, including orphans and those in need, were welcome and could find a home, just like he and his brother had found a home with the wolf and the shepherd.

And that’s how Rome began, all thanks to two adventurous brothers and their wild but wonderful start in life.
