Roman Toilets and Latrines
Forts and camps built throughout Scotland all followed a similar pattern as to the placement of toilets and latrines. Going to the toilet was a social occasion in Roman times with seats around the walls of an open-plan room and mosses.
A latrine in Bearsden has given up lots of information about what soldiers ate.
