Visit Carvoran
Carvoran is beside the Roman Army Museum near Greenhead. The museum and the largely buried fort are separate visitor experiences; check the museum’s current arrangements before travelling.

RIB 1810 is a fragmentary inscription naming the First Cohort of Hamians. Read it alongside the wider Carvoran corpus rather than assigning all finds to one occupation.
