Newstead Fort (Trimontium)

This fort lies next to the River Tweed on Dere Street in Scotland. It was occupied from the year 80 to 100 and then again from 140 to 180. It held about 2000 legionary and auxiliary troops and there are 8 marching camps nearby.
It had an amphitheatre for 1000 to 2000 people in an arena that measured 37 x30m.
