At this point, many of the forts built during the Agricola invasion had been abandoned since 86 AD. Some key forts still appear to be in limited use. Many Roman forces pulled back to the Stanegate Road, which roughly follows the route Hadrian’s Wall would take in 122 AD. Academics debate the Roman presence in Scotland at this time, and I have tried to keep to the forts mentioned on Canmore, the official government record and have not used the “there must have been a Roman fort here ” records.
Around the turn of the second century, many of the forts here were abandoned and the military units withdrawn as the emperor Trajan needed them to fight in the Dacian Wars ( Romania and western Ukraine), which lasted to 106 AD.

The map of coins up to 100 AD in England shows little activity in the north.
