Roman Gask Project Website
This comprehensive website at http://www.theromangaskproject.org/ details a long-term programme to study the Roman Frontier works on and around the Gask Ridge in Perthshire, Scotland. It is run by Dr Birgitta Hoffman and Dr David Woolliscroft.
The Gask Ridge frontier system is the earliest Roman land frontier in the world, built in the 70s or 80’s AD, 40 years before Hadrian’s Wall and 60 years before the Antonine Wall. It is also older than the Roman frontier system in Germany. Visit their website to find out lots more.
Below is a map of the watchtowers, forts and Roman road which you can walk.
You can cycle or walk the Roman road along the ridge some of it tarmacked and some of it through forest ( which is more difficult by bike).
